Another Craftsman piece, this time in maple. Note that the hinges and knobs are brass, which I oxidized to an almost black finish. This piece is called “Fred”, as in Flintstone, because of its sheer mass. It is darned heavy. I used solid maple boards, shiplapped to allow wood movement, on the back. It’s quite an impressive sight and I wish I had photographed it before moving it into place. Because moving it now is out of the question.
